Open Call: Hibon Art “Proof of Presence” Exhibition

What does it mean to be present?

Is it the existence of the work itself, the voice of the artist, or some form of institutional acknowledgment?

And what constitutes proof?

Must it follow a prescribed format, be filed and certified? Or can the artist define it on their own terms and recognize it as valid?

Proof of Presence does not seek a singular answer. It focuses on how artists construct their position through sustained practice, defined structures, and individual judgment. Each work is not only an outcome, but also a form of presence. It articulates how the artist relates to the world through process, methodology, rhythm, and decision-making.The exhibition offers a cross-section of how emerging artists are currently working. It is a record composed of multiple, active sites of making. If you are in the midst of practice, and your work reflects such a structure, we invite you to submit your own proof of presence.
